What: In this talk Professor Adam A. Porter will first provide a short introduction to the field of software engineering. After that he will follow up with an overview of the software engineering and programming language research currently being done at the University of Maryland. Some of the topics he will cover include: What is software? Why is it important? What is software engineering? What issues do software engineering researchers study? What kinds of software engineering research are being done at the University of Maryland? This talk will be aimed at undergraduate students who may not have a deep understanding or background in software engineering.
