Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, MOE, announces 25 universities are approved to provide the new Doctor of Engineering (D. Eng.) Program on Electronics and Information and Sichuan University is one of 25 universities. CCS will be one of the colleges in Sichuan University to provide the new program.

 

Doctor of Engineering is a new kind of professional degrees in China which emphasizes innovation and practical skills in the area of engineering. In February, Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee examined and approved Guideline of Professional Degrees--Doctor of Engineering and set strict standards for colleges and universities who want to offer this program. In the application period, CCS and College of Electronics and Information Engineering worked together and succeed at last.

 

Candidates for the new program will be students with both theoretic knowledge and practical experiences and skills to solve complex problems in the area of information science. Accordingly, the new D. Eng. Program will be a co-op program with jointly efforts from both the university and companies in information industry.
