Clinical Technique Experiment Teaching Center was founded in March 2002, and was approved to be the National Level Experiment Teaching Demonstration Center in 2008. The laboratory area is more than 10000 square meters, and the total value of equipment reaches to more than 80,000,000 RMB. The Center has rich teacher resource, totally 51 full-time teaching staff, including 18 professors, 12 associate professors, 21 lecturers and technicians.
Aiming to enhance quality of experimental teaching, cultivate high-quality innovative students and establish top-ranking laboratory in China, the Center tried to implement the following: optimizing teaching resources, reforming teaching methods, constructing new “Clinical Medical Teaching Model” featured in structural form, organ function, clinical skill and holistic nursing. Now it is a clinical medical teaching base. As it is cross infiltration of multi-disciplinary and providing training on various levels and classes, the Center can effectively promote the conversion of knowledge to ability. Moreover, relying on the largest hospital in China (West China Hospital), the Center incorporates with international medical associations actively, and has founded advanced laboratories in Ophthalmology, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Anesthesia and Emergency Medicine, and Orthopedic Mock Surgery, etc. It is really a high-quality platform for continuing education of medical personnel.
The Center offers teaching experiment for more than 10 majors such as Basic and Forensic Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Stomatology, Preventive Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, Maternity and Child Care Medicine, etc. It is also open to Colleges as Life Science, Information, Materials Science and Humanities, and to the society. About 5881 students will finish experiment here every year, and the annual teaching load reaches to 166171 person• credit hour.
