Mr. I.M. Pandey, Consul General of Indian General Consulate in Guangzhou visited Sichuan University on February 24. Vice President Shi Jian and leaders from other offices met with Mr. in the VIP hall of Jiangan campus.
On behalf of the University, Vice President Shi Jian expressed warm welcome to Mr. I.M. Pandey, and gave a brief introduction of Sichuan University, emphasizing the efforts the University has made to serve local social economic development, carry out research of Southern Asia and promote international cooperation and exchanges. Shi pointed out that, as Sichuan University sits in Sichuan Province, which is adjacent to India and South Asian countries geographically, it has broad space and bright prospect in cooperation with India and South Asian countries in the fields of resources protection, commerce and trade, environment protection and sustainable development. It is hoped that Mr. Pandey’s visit can help set up a platform for both sides to promote cooperation and exchanges in the fields of education, science and technology, economy, culture and religions, so that we can jointly make contributions to the common prosperity of China and India.
Mr. I.M. Pandey said it was his honor to pay a second visit to Sichuan University. He thanked Vice President Shi for the hospitality and gladly expressed that China and India were at the best time of their relations with great potentiality of cooperation in multiple fields such as culture, science and technology, religion and education, and in fact there were more and more cooperation and exchanges between scholars of the two countries. The General Consul of India in Guangzhou expressed the will to provide great support and necessary conditions for China and India.
