June 29th, afternoon, a delegation led by Deakin University President Jane den Hollander paid a visit to SCU, and signed a MOU for inter-institutional cooperation with the host. President Xie Heping, accompanied by vice president Yan Shijing and relevant personnel, met with the delegation.
Xie Heping claimed in the meeting that, SCU attaches great importance to internationalization of students’ education, and strives to ensure everyone of its student could experience overseas exchange for at least one time through activities including practice, international course week and overseas exchanges, hoping that the signing of the MOU could further the cooperation between the two universities and the exchanges and interaction between their faculties and students.
Jane den Hollander said that, as a famous university in China, SCU enjoys a good reputation in Australia; Deakin University is a young university though, it has strong strengths in disciplines like materials science and economics; Deakin University is willing to join hands with SCU to promote the exchanges and cooperation in joint research, joint nurturing of talents and other aspects.
Xie Heping and Jane den Hollander signed the MOU for inter-institutional cooperation on behalf of SCU and Deakin University respectively.
It is learnt that Deakin University, as one of topnotch universities in Australia, ranked top 3% in various global university ranking lists; furthermore, it is rated as a “five star university” by the prestigious Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
