We are engaged in providing service to faculty and students of Sichuan University in the following areas:
To Prepare the annual plan for various kinds of Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) programs and the university personnel exchange programs for studying abroad, and selecting the qualified faculty and students to study or research abroad.
To assist the completion of the formalities for evaluation and approval of both long-term and short-term programs of going abroad.
To provide necessary information for those who will study abroad, and keep in close touch with our students and visiting scholars abroad, and provide necessary assistance for them to complete overseas study and resear program and return to Sichuan University on time.
To set up and improve the administration system for going abroad (including the document approval system for going abroad and visiting regions of Hong Kong and Macao) and the document archives for personnel studying abroad.
To promote the Talents Training Program of Sichuan University, encouraging and selecting qualified students to participate in various exchange programs, such as “2+2”, “3+1” and “2+1+1”.
Chinese government scholarship programs and oversea training for SU faculty and studentsThe specialized CSC-SUNY scholarship program organized by Ministry of Education of China, Chinese Scholarship Council and the State University of New York, aimed at helping the college students coming from the earth quake areas of Sichuan Province, has selected 150 college students for one year of studying in SUNY, in which there are 26 from Sichuan University. And all of them will complete the study program and come back home in May of 2009. Chinese Government Scholarship for Postgraduates Program supports around 100 postgraduates from our university each year to study abroad for a doctor degree Sichuan University and the Chinese Scholarship Council under the Ministry of Education jointly support around 24 to 30 of our young teachers to study abroad each year Since 2007, we have sent 300 or so administrators to receive four weeks of intensive training at some of the top universities abroad. This program is jointly supported by Sichuan University and the Chinese Scholarship Council. Every year 20 young faculty members from the Foreign Languages School benefit from the Language training program in Arizona State University Each year about 25 to 30 young faculty members are selected for one month of English language and culture training in Australia or United states.
