Dr. Xun Sun attended the kick-off meeting of HYANJI SCAFFOLD Project funded by EU Seventh Framework Programme
Dr. Xun Sun, Associate professor in the department of Pharmaceutics, attended the kick-off meeting of HYANJI SCAFFOLD Project at the Institute for Science & Technology in Medicine, Keele University, UK in March 24-26, 2010. This project is funded by the European Commission's FP7-PEOPLE-IRSES (International Research Staff Exchange Scheme
It aims at technology transfer of advanced methods from for the biosynthesis of polyalkaonates and for targeted drug delivery. The exchange programme comprises two European partners (Keele and Pisa Universities) and two Chinese partners (Tsinghua and Sichuan Universities), which are international centers of excellence in their fields of research.
The exchange comprises 208 person-months over 4 years to achieve a long-lasting scientific collaboration between the EU and China. The key laboratory of drug targeting and novel drug delivery system, West China School of Pharmacy will send researchers to Keele and Pisa Universities for 48 person-months and get a financial support of about 100 thousand Euros.
In this meeting, Dr. Xun Sun introduced our pharmacy school and discussed the working-plan with the partners. She also gave a lecture titled “Combination delivery of adenovirus with non-viral vectors”to the researchers and graduated students of the Institute for Science & Technology in Medicine, Keele University.
