On the morning of March 23, 2018, Professor Luo Xin, from Anderson School of Management (Anderson), University of New Mexico (UNM) visited Our School and brought a wonderful lecture entitled "The role of emotions in information security research: new insights and opportunities" for our teachers and students.
The report is opened by associate professor Yao Liming, assistant of dean of School of Business, Sichuan University, director of Development, Planning and Discipline Construction Office. According to the introduction of associate professor Yao Liming, Professor Robert is a regent professor, serving on the Board of Trustees of the Anderson School of Management, UNM, and a lifetime professor for the Management Information System and Information Security Guarantee. He is also a director of International Project Center of Andrews Academy and deputy director of Information Security Research and Education Center (The organization is a widely recognized outstanding research center on information safety and security guarantee teaching). Professor Robert is currently the editor in chief of the International Journal of Accounting and Information Management, an international journal. Besides, Robert serves as guest associate editor of MIS Quarterly, the world's top journal of management information system, and associate editor of the world famous journals Decision Sciences, European Journal of Information Systems, Electronic Commerce Research, Journal of Electronic Commerce Research, the highest academic year on global information system (International Conference on Information Systems).
During the report, Professor Robert firstly introduces the research progress of information security and looks forward to the future research direction. Later, he shares an article titled "Anger or Fear Effects of Discrete Emotions on Employee Computer-Related Deviant Behavior", he points out that anger and fear are two reverse emotions that have largest effect on human behavior and employee emotion derives from their perceived responses to the internal environment of the enterprise within a period of time. Empirical research for the two kinds of reverse moods needs to be performed. Professor Robert terrific sharing has aroused the strong interest of the students present.
After the sharing, Professor Robert and the present students have a heated discussion on topics like the research methods of structural equation, the merits and demerits of empirical research method, as well as the current mainstream information security research methods, and he patiently answers questions about thesis writing and selection for students. This report not only puts forward relevant research ideas of emotions and employee behavior, but gives inspiration to the academic research strictness. The students present have expressed their gains and look forward to the next wonderful lecture of Mr. Robert.

Dr Robert main research interest is information system security management, e-commerce / mobile commerce, innovative technology for strategic decision and development (cloud computing, green information system, social network), and intercultural information technology management.
As one of the world's top founding members of the “FIP WG8.11/WG 11.13 The Dewald Roode Information Security Workshop” Dr Robert also won the Best Jury Award of the organization in 2012. Robert has been listed into global celebrities "Who is Who in the World" by American Marquis since 2009.
